Here is the 2012 MDA Schedule for the Auburn Fire Fighter’s Local:
The Auburn Fire Fighters are doing a Second Annual City Wide Challenge which is taking place in the month of June. This event includes all of the city departments, schools, and city employees to see how much money we can raise for the MDA. If you are visiting City Hall or a school in Auburn between June 3rd and June 13th you will notice our fireman boot’s scattered throughout the buildings. Please feel free to donate in one of our many boots as all the proceeds go back to the MDA of Maine.
We will be doing a Shaw's Event on Center Street in Auburn. As of right now we plan on being there June 30th and July 1st from 0800 to 1630. Feel free to do some grocery shopping and ask the fireman that will be there collecting any questions you may have about the fire department. Also bring your children so that they can see our trucks, equipment, and meet the fireman of Auburn.
We will once again be at the Balloon Festival at various locations all night long on Friday, August 17. We plan on setting up multiple locations throughout the Lewiston and Auburn festival area. We plan on being at the Bonney Park Bridge off Main Street and the Longley Bridge off of Court Street so please help us raise money for the MDA.
We will be assisting Lewiston in their L/A Harley event on Saturday August 25th. Members should be there at 1100 to assist in setting up and runs until dusk. There will be food, bands, fireworks, and more in the L/A Harley parking lot as they are releasing their 2013 Motorcycles.
Friday September 14, will be doing our 5th annual Street Boot-Drive. The fundraiser will take place at the Union/Turner/Center Street Intersection from 1630 to Dusk. The rain date would be the following Friday the 21st. During this event that traffic may be slower than usual however please be patient as we are donating our time in order to collect donations for those in need. Please be aware the we will be on sidewalks and on the medians during green lights as well as in the street collecting during red lights. Please use extra caution as we all would like to go home safely to our families after the event.
As always feel free to donate online by going through our website. On the left side of your screen you will see a spot where you can donate to either our Children’s Fund or the MDA. Remember, all of the proceeds raised are given directly to the organization in which is specified. Please assist us with donations so that we can continue to help those that are less fortunate.
